Crews battle fire at Hanes Dye and Finishing Co. in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Nobody was hurt after a fire at Hanes Dye and Finishing Co. in Winston-Salem.

Battalion Chief Chaz Browning said the fire started when heat from operating machinery ignited dust and lint buildup on machinery itself and what was in the ventilation system.

The fire was under control and all units cleared the scene at at 600 W. Northwest Blvd. by about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Browning.
