TELFAIR COUNTY, Ga. — Police are looking for a Georgia couple who mysteriously vanished after answering an ad for a car on Craigslist.

The daughters of 69-year-old Elrey or “Bud” Runion and his 66-year-old wife June held back tears Saturday as they talked about their last conversation with their parents.

Stephanie Bishop said her dad posted an add on the website, wanting to buy a 1966 mustang. She said someone responded and her parents agreed to meet in McRae, Georgia.

The couple left their Marietta home Thursday around 2 p.m. in June’s 2003 GMC Envoy.

Their daughters said they became concerned when they didn’t show up to baby-sit their grandchildren nearly 24 hours later.

“We are worried that someone might have done something bad and taken advantage of them,” said Brittany Patterson.

Runion was a Vietnam veteran, and according to his daughters, not naive about personal safety.

They left with their cell phones and chargers but no one has heard from them since 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Their daughters created the “Find Bud & June” Facebook page and want people to share it.

Law enforcement officials in Georgia said they have received tips and are following up on them.
