GREENSBORO, N.C. — Cone Health is expanding primary care services for adults who may or may not have health insurance, officials announced in a news release on Thursday.

The Cone Health Community Health & Wellness Center has opened at 201 E. Wendover Ave. The center operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Patients of the adult care center of the Cone Urgent Care Center at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital are moving to the Community Health and Wellness Center. The staff of the adult care center has moved to the new facility.

Additional health professionals will join them. Plans include opening an on-site pharmacy in the fall.

The Community Health & Wellness Center will use the medical home model to provide care. The model uses physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, social workers, health coaches and other healthcare specialists to provide patient care.

“We feel that this is an ideal way to provide the highest quality of care for our patients,” says Cone Health Medical Group Vice President Steve Anderson. “A team approach can really help deal with chronic health needs like diabetes or simpler needs like reminding you to get a flu shot. It’s an innovative way to not only meet daily healthcare needs, but to improve long-term health.”

Appointments can be made by calling 832-4444.
