CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than a dozen bystanders jumped into action Friday after a car flipped over in Charlotte.
WSOC-TV reported that the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Interstate 485 near Brookshire Boulevard as many were headed home from work.
North Carolina Highway Patrol said the car was traveling on the outer loop when it swerved into the median, hit the guard cables, and crossed into the inner loop before coming back into the outer loop and flipping.
Two men were inside at the time of the accident.
Several drivers pulled over and rushed to the vehicle and pushed it on its side.
“I saw people out there lifting and moving and pushing the car and so my first instinct was to hop out of my sister’s PT Cruiser and do what I can,” said Scottie Stowe, one of the good Samaritans.
