ROSEBURG, Ore. — The man from Randleman, hailed a hero after the deadly shooting at a community college in Oregon last week, was released from the hospital, according to NBC News.

Chris Mintz, 30, left Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, Ore., Wednesday night, a friend told NBC.

Mintz was shot several times during while trying to stop the Umpqua Community College gunman, Christopher Harper-Mercer.

Harper-Mercer, 26, killed nine people during the rampage before killing himself.
