WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 9-year-old child was shot in Winston-Salem on Wednesday night, Winston-Salem police confirmed.
The shooting happened on Forest Hill Avenue where there was an argument.
The shooter started firing at a vehicle and a 9-year-old in the vehicle was struck.
The driver of the vehicle then drove to the Northcliffe Forest apartment complex on North Point Boulevard and called police.
Winston-Salem police said the child was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No suspect information has been released.
