CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have accused a Charlotte man of stealing things from a home where the owner was found dead of natural causes.

Pressley Davis Jr., 20, has been charged with burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon and six counts of larceny of a firearm.

He was in the Mecklenburg jail late Tuesday with bail set at $445,000.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Davis targeted the home because the garbage can had not been brought in and the mailbox was full.

The homeowner’s name has not been released.

Police were called on Saturday when neighbors saw several men leaving the home in the owner’s car.
