GREENSBORO, N.C. — Chris Daughtry is starting a new tour next month promoting his latest album and invited FOX8’s Shannon Smith to stop by for rehearsals.

The ‘American Idol’ finalist spent the last month in a Greensboro warehouse preparing for the ‘Break the Spell’ tour.

“We honestly felt writing the record it was our best yet,” Daughtry said.

Daughtry said big changes at home brought the new sound to the music. He is now a father of four with 15-month-old twins.

He said it is harder than ever to be away from home.

“We try to do the face time especially for the little guys and they’re like grabbing at the phone and hanging up on me,” Daughtry said.

He said he is excited to play new music live for his fans. Daughtry’s first stop is on ‘Idol.’ He said returning to Idol will be like attending a high school reunion.

After that he will play at venues across the country including the Greensboro Coliseum on April 7. Ticketmaster lists a price range of $30.50 to $50.50.

“It’s always exciting it never gets old i hope it never does,” he said of music.
