FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A cat is expected to survive after being shot through the head with an arrow.
According to KFSM, a call about an injured cat came in to Fayetteville (Ark.) Animal Services on Wednesday morning.
The cat, named Simba, was taken into surgery and the arrow was successfully removed.
The person who shot Simba will face animal cruelty charges if apprehended.
The owner of Simba is in Florida and a neighbor was asked to come over daily and take care of the animal.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the animal was resting and recovering. Most of the damage to the cat is in its sinus passage, officials said.
Having the arrow in their possession may help police identify the person who shot Simba.
