Cars swept away in flash flooding in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Cars were swept away during flash flooding late Tuesday night in Winston-Salem.

Swift Water Rescue and firefighters are working an area on Northwest Blvd. near Broad and Thurmond Street. Officials said the flash flooding took many of the cars from the parking lot of Club 99 on Northwest Blvd. to the creek that runs behind it.

Authorities said crews are searching the vehicles that ended up in the water to make sure no one was inside.

Authorities said nobody is missing and as far as they know no one was injured.
