Car hits NC school bus, passenger in car flown to hospital

SANFORD, N.C. – Authorities said one person was injured after a car rammed a North Carolina school bus on Monday morning.

WTVD-TV reported that it happened around 7:30 a.m. in Sanford as the bus was headed to Tramway Elementary School.

None of the 10 elementary students on board were injured, according to police. A passenger in the car was flown to UNC Hospitals for treatment.

Students were picked up by an alternate bus and taken to school. Parents were also alerted.
