WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A car was left dangling over the side of a bridge after colliding with another vehicle in Winston-Salem Monday afternoon.

The collision happened between two cars on Spruce Street at the on ramp for Business 40 Westbound.

According to police, a vehicle driven by Christine Teague was traveling west on the on-ramp from Cherry Street to US-421 northbound. A vehicle driven by Whitney Horton, which was traveling north on Spruce Street, failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. This resulted in Horton colliding into the left side of Teague’s vehicle, which left it hanging from the side of the bridge.

Paramedics took Teague to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be serious.

Horton and two passengers in the other car were not injured.

It does not appear speed or alcohol were factors in this accident, according to police.
