CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If his on-the-field performance left any doubt, fellow NFL players put the notion to rest Wednesday night as Cam Newton was voted the NFL Network’s top player of 2016.

Carolina Panther’s quarterback Cam Newton has already been chosen as the top player in the league by a panel of media members. Now, fellow NFL players agree.

Newton’s season included a 15-1 regular season, an NFC Championship, a Superbowl appearance and an eye-popping 99.4 quarterback rating that included 35 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 636 yards rushing and ten touchdowns on the ground.

The Panthers are expected to be one of the top teams vying for a Superbowl next season.
