Burlington shooting victim dies from injuries

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A man who was injured in a shooting in Burlington on Monday has died, according to Lt. C.E. Gaddis with Burlington police.

Kareem L. Johnson, 21, of Burlington, passed away from his injuries at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, Gaddis said.

The shooting was reported at 702 Tillman St. at 2:41 p.m., Taylor said.

When officers arrived, they located Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Johnson was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He was later transferred to UNC Hospital.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a disturbance between approximately four to eight people occurred at the residence when Johnson was shot.

Three to four people fled the property following the shooting.
