Burlington police searching for missing girl

BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Burlington Police Department is asking for help locating a missing girl.

On Nov. 2 officers were notified that 11-year-old Yarielis Laguna Matta was last seen by family members at her residence on Nov. 1.

She is described as being 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 110 pounds with brown eyes and long dark brown hair. There is no known description of what clothing she was last wearing.

After further investigation it was found that she recently moved to Burlington and may be unfamiliar with the area. Investigators have no reason to believe that foul play is involved in her disappearance.
