BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Burlington man has been charged with the murder of a man who was found set on fire in June and died from his injuries.

Cesar Torres-Acevedo, 34, is charged with first-degree murder for the killing of Juan Mario Martinez Trujillo, 56, of Hillsborough, according to Lt. C. E. Gaddis with Burlington police.

Trujillo was found on June 13, 2015, near Hatchery Road after Alamance County Central Communications received multiple calls about seeing a man running around on fire.

Trujillo died from his injuries on Aug. 24, 2015.

Torres-Acevedo is currently in custody in the Gaston County Jail after being arrested two weeks ago on unrelated charges, Gaddis said.

He is currently being held without bond on the murder charge.
