Burlington man charged with driving without a license after hitting pedestrian

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Rescue crews responded to the 1600 Block of North Church Street after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle on Tuesday.

At approximately 4 p.m., Juan Carlos Cruz, of 2417 North Church Street, was heading east on North Church Street when he struck Kimberly Michelle Ector, of 811 Shaw Street, as she was walking across the street.

According to police the driver was unable to see Ector because of traffic.

Ector was transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.

No charges were filed in relation to the accident, however, Cruz was charged at the scene for driving without an operator’s license.

Cruz was not injured.
