BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington firefighters rescued a man who became trapped in a portable toilet tank on Monday evening.

According to the Burlington Times-News, the incident happened at the Elmira Community Center on Wicker Street.

Firefighters got the call at 6:23 p.m., Capt Brock Wright told the Times-News. The scene was cleared at 7:20 p.m.

The Times-News reports that the man was stuck with only his head and arm out of the tank.

Firefighters had to cut the top of the tank off to pull him out, Wright said.

The man was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center to get checked out.

The man could not tell firefighters how he became stuck other than to say he fell in.
