GREENSBORO, N.C. — Drivers should expect delays over the next few weeks on a heavily traveled four-mile stretch of Bryan Boulevard.

Crews started resurfacing work Monday on the stretch between the Fleming Road overpass and Benjamin Parkway.

The road will be down to one lane eastbound for the next few weeks, and then crews will switch to the westbound lanes. Several interchanges along the stretch will be closed during the project as well.

Crews will work between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as weekends.

“Part of this roadway that we are resurfacing is actually the original roadway that was constructed and opened in 1996, so it’s getting to be 15, 16 years old,” said Darrell Ferguson with NCDOT. “It’s time for some of it to be resurfaced.”

The DOT plans to have the work completed by the end of July.
