HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Brad Paisley sung about the so-called “transgender bathroom law” in North Carolina during a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The country music star sung about House Bill 2 with a parody of Tammy Wynette’s 1960s hit “Stand By Your Man.”

“Why is this such a big deal? Hike up your dress, and take a stand. And sit by your man,” Paisley sung.

House Bill 2, among other things, requires people to use restrooms that correspond to their gender at birth.

Gov. Pat McCrory signed the highly-controversial law, called the Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, in March after it was passed by the North Carolina Senate.

Supporters of the bill call it “common sense” while opponents claim it discriminates against transgender individuals.
