WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- If you have a child who doesn't exactly love reading, you'll find comfort in this: best-selling author James Patterson was in the same boat! And he has written so many books, he is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records of having the most No. 1 books on the New York Times Bestseller List.

And, what is his secret for crafting so many top-selling books?

Patterson is in town as the headliner for this Saturday's Bookmarks Festival and took some time out to talk to FOX8'S Shelley Roupas.

The Bookmarks Festival connects authors with readers and is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Winston-Salem at 2nd and Spruce streets. It is free for everyone.
