Bomb threat called in to UNCW building during Trump rally

WILMINGTON, N.C. — A bomb threat was called in to a building at the University of North Carolina Wilmington on Tuesday afternoon, New Hanover County dispatch told the Star-News.

Dispatch told the newspaper law enforcement on campus handled the threat.

The threat was called in shortly after 12:30 p.m.

UNCW spokeswoman Janine Iamunno told the Star-News that at 1:40 p.m. the threat was cleared and no evacuation was necessary.

The threat came during a rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on campus. It was before Trump’s arrival on campus.
