Body found in Wake County pond identified

CARY, N.C. — Cary police said a resident discovered a woman’s body in a pond near Yates Store Road and Brookhill Way around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

It’s part of the Amberly subdivision.

Late Tuesday night, police identified the woman as 19 year-old Aliza Webb. Neighbors said she had been missing since Jan. 10.

The cause of her death is undetermined, but police said there were no signs of foul play.

Webb’s body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for further evaluation.
