SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. — A woman was airlifted to a hospital with serious burns after she was blown off a boat that caught fire on Lake Norman Monday evening, according to WBTV.
Officials told WBTV the incident happened in the Sherills Ford area of the lake.
Five people were reportedly on the boat when it caught fire around 5 p.m.
Witnesses said four people jumped from the boat before it exploded. The woman was blown off the boat.
Two North Carolina Wildlife officers’ boats were nearby. The officers were able to get to the people and pull them out of the water.
One other person was also taken to the hospital.
