ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. — Ebenezer Scrooge, is that you?

Deputies were called to a dollar store in Maryland on Monday after a beaver got in and started damaging some holiday decorations, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

In photos shared by the sheriff’s office on Twitter, the beaver can be seen trashing the isles, clawing at the Christmas trees and knocking various decorations off shelves.

In the end, the beaver was safely rescued by animal control and released to a wildlife rehabilitator.

It’s safe to say this is a call that deputies won’t soon forget.
