Bear spotted near Greensboro Greenway

GREENSBORO, N.C.– Greensboro Police responded to a bear sighting on Spring Garden St. near Edgeworth St. around 8:30 p.m. Monday night.

According to police, two people were preparing to walk on the Greenway when they saw the bear, which did not appear to threaten anyone.

Officers responded and observed the bear as it wandered to a nearby wooded area without incident.

Several bear sighting have been reported throughout the area in recent weeks.

A bear cub was also spotted in a tree on N.C. A&T’s campus last month.

Police urge anyone who sees a bear to stay away and report it to police.

If you are in a vehicle and a bear is on the roadway or attempting to cross the roadway, allow it to do so safely.
