CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bianca Tanner, a former Guilford County teacher who was murdered in Charlotte, died of an “undetermined trauma,” according to an autopsy report released Friday by the N.C. Medical Examiner’s Office.

Tanner, 31, was last seen alive on June 7 after a fight with her boyfriend Angelo Grayson Smith Jr. at their Charlotte apartment. Smith reported her missing 12 hours later.

Tanner’s 3-year-old son, Jarrod Tanner, told police Smith had beaten his mother before she left, court documents stated.

Her remains were found in a wooded area of Charlotte on July 3.

Smith is charged with first-degree murder.
