CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities are looking for a suspicious vehicle after a young girl reported a man tried to lure her into his van Sunday.

According to WSOC, the girl told officers she was in the Heatherstone subdivision in Harrisburg, when a black work van with tinted windows drove up to her at about 4:30 p.m.

The girl said the driver, described as a white man with a deep voice, showed her a picture of a dog and asked her to help find it.

The girl said she declined and the man drove away.

The girl reported the man returned a few minutes later, told her she was pretty and asked her to get into the van to help him find the dog.

The girl said she told the man no again and went inside to tell her parents, who called the sheriff’s office.

Officers were unable to find the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle or who has outside surveillance systems in the area to contact them.

The black van reportedly has a white mark on the driver’s side fender.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 704-920-3057 or the Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers at 704-93-CRIME.
