HIGH POINT, N.C. — An Archdale man was arrested after three searches yielded stolen merchandise with an estimated value of more than $100,000 as part of a follow up investigation into an organized retail theft ring.
Detectives searched three locations on Thursday, including 5128 Meyers St. in Archdale, 5728 Old Mendenhall Road in Archdale, and 1721 Tower Ave. in High Point.
Police said substantial amounts of stolen merchandise — including large quantities of over-the-counter drugs, makeup, DVD players, and clothing — was recovered from each location.
The stolen merchandise had a collective estimated value exceeding $100,000, police said.
Marcus Devin Riffe, 38, of 5128 Meyers St. in Archdale, was arrested in connection with the stolen merchandise.
He has been charged with organized retail theft and was jailed in Guilford County under a $10,000 secured bond.
In March, four women were charged in connection with an estimated $40,000 worth of stolen merchandise that was recovered from separate locations across High Point and Thomasville.
