CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. — An arcade at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk is a total loss after a massive fire Thursday.
WECT reported that sparks reignited a small fire later Thursday night in the roped off portion.
Carolina Beach Fire crews were already on scene overnight monitoring hotspots and were able to extinguish the flames quickly.
The original call in around 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, when a large plume of smoke was seen billowing from the property.
No one was injured in the fire.
The arcade and the shop behind it are both a total loss, according to WECT. Franks Pizza, next door to the arcade, has some damage from the flames. Officials believe the arcade can be repaired and reopened.
The owner of nearby Britt’s Donuts, said his shop was not damaged.
The fire does not appear to be suspicious, but officials will continue to investigate how it started.
