Alamance County Commissioners agree to 2 cent tax increase

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C.– Homeowners in Alamance County may have to pay more in property taxes next year

The Burlington Times-News reports County Commissioners approved a two-cent increase Monday, as part of the 2013-14 budget. It sets the tax rate at 54 cents per $100 of assessed value. The previous rate was set at 52 cents.

The increase is pending approval of the entire budget.

A revised budget proposal will be presented at the county commissioners’ meeting is next Monday.
