AC/DC’s Phil Rudd arrested for attempting to procure murder

TAURANGA, New Zealand — AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was arrested in New Zealand Thursday morning local time for allegedly trying to have two men killed, reports.

Rudd, 60, was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and threatening to kill.

Rudd appeared in Tauranga District Court Thursday afternoon and entered no plea to the charges. He will reappear in court in three weeks.

According to the charges, Rudd had tried to get a hitman to kill two men.

Rudd refused to talk to the media.

In releasing Rudd on bail, it was ordered that he should have no contact with the man he allegedly tried to hire to carry out the murder.
