OCRACOKE, N.C. — A mandatory evacuation was just ordered for Ocracoke Island due to Hurricane Isaias, according to a statement from Hyde County.

The order becomes effective for visitors at noon today (Friday) and residents and non-resident property owners at 6 a.m. Saturday.
