Power restored to most Duke Energy customers in Guilford County after outage

Update, 9 p.m. Tuesday — Most power outages have been fixed. As of 9 p.m., less than 300 Duke Energy customers in Guilford County remain without power. Power is expected to be restored to most customers by 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — More than 1,000 Duke Energy customers are without power in Greensboro, according to the power company.

The outages are focused in the area of south of Lake Townsend.

Duke Energy expects restoration to take until 5:30 p.m.

More than 2,600 customers reported outages starting at about 12:40 p.m. stretching from the Lake Brandt area to Lake Jeanette.

Duke Energy attributed those outages what officials are calling an equipment situation.

Many of those outages have since been restored.
