9 displaced after apartment fire in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Nine people were displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Thomasville early Monday morning.

Three Thomasville City fire departments responded to the fire at 1311 Blair St. around 2 a.m.

According to the battalion chief, one apartment is a total loss and a total of eight apartments in the building were damaged.

Three of the apartments had people living in them and everyone was home when the fire broke out.

One person was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the extent of the person’s injuries is unknown.

The fire marshal is still working to determine what caused the fire.
