FRESNO, Calif. — An eight-year-old California boy is cooking up the perfect recipe for success.
In a time where many kids are relaxing and spending time with friends, Jalen Bailey is spending time in the kitchen, working to better himself and his single mother.
“I wanted to save up a lot of money to get a house,” Jalen Bailey told KFSN. “I just want one that me and my mom can be happy in.”
Jalen’s Bakery, which runs out of his kitchen, is beginning to pick up steam in the community.
“He’s getting a lot of requests,” said Jalen’s mom Sharhonda. “He did his first event.”
He just recently attended a networking event for business owners and has received baking requests from the community.
And at eight-years-old, he even has his own website.
