9 students, school bus driver involved in crash in Stokes County

STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — A school bus carrying nine students to South Stokes High School was involved in a crash Monday morning.

The incident happened around 8:21 a.m. at 1576 Hampton Road when the bus plunged into an embankment. The reason for the crash is currently unknown.

Stokes County Emergency Medical Services checked the students out and none were taken to the hospital. The driver was taken to the hospital.

A second bus is on its way to take the kids to school.

The investigation is ongoing.
