NEW YORK -- A family in New York is grieving after their 70-year-old grandmother was gunned down overnight.

Police said Leta Webb was shot after opening the door of her home in Jamaica, Queens when someone rang her door bell around 1:30 a.m.

The person at the door fired one shot to her head and left arm and then fled, according to police.

She was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

"Everybody loved her so I cannot understand why somebody would want to do that to her," Webb's son-in-law, Kevin McDowell, said.

Webb's daughter, Eva Usher, said she believes someone was targeting her mother's home. She had begged her to move before.

Usher said she won't rest until her mother's killer gets justice.

No arrests have been made so far.
