ALMA, Mich. — A boy shot his father to death while his family was asleep in their home in Michigan early Friday, MLive reports.
Alma Police Department responded to the shooting after midnight, according to a press release. The boy found keys to a locked case containing a “high-powered rifle,” and removed it. The father died as a result of injuries sustained. An autopsy has been scheduled.
The shooting has been ruled as accidental and Child Protective Services is assisting the family.
