4 charged in string of break-ins in Guilford, Alamance counties

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Four people were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with a string of home and motor vehicle break-ins in the Stoney Creek community, according to Sheriff BJ Barnes.

Montrea Rashard Smith, of Greensboro; Donte Dyron Adams, of Winston-Salem; Curtis Lenard Smith, of Greensboro; and Darrell Lavon Turner Jr. of Winston-Salem, were arrested.

The suspects face charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first-degree burglary of a residence, second-degree burglary of a residence, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Burlington Police Department Sgt. J.T. Long said the four have also been charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering of motor vehicle and one count of misdemeanor larceny in connection with crimes committed at Alamance Reserve Apartments in Burlington.
