RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Nearly two dozen students were taken to the hospital after pepper spray was used on a South Carolina school bus Tuesday morning, WLTX reported.

A boy and a girl on their way to Westwood High School in Richland County began to fight on the bus, at which point pepper spray was fired out of a small canister, officials said. They were not sure which student fired the pepper spray and would soon be reviewing school bus video to get more information.

A total of 21 students were taken to the hospital after they were exposed to the spray.
