2 being treated for life-threatening injuries after head-on collision in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Two people are being treated for life-threatening injuries at Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, according to Lt. W. Heaviland with High Point police.

The accident victims were injured in a head-on collision in High Point that happened shortly after 6 p.m.

According to Heaviland, the two victims were the drivers of two cars involved in a crash at the intersection of South Elm Street and Vail Avenue.

At least one of the victims was airlifted from nearby High Point Regional Hospital.

The identities of the victims and the cause of the accident have not been released.

The crash is under investigation.
