2 arrested after 9 pounds of marijuana seized in Davidson Co.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Police have arrested two men in connection with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on southbound Interstate 85 near Cotton Grove Road for an equipment violation around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

During the stop, officers noticed the odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle.

Officers seized approximately nine pounds of marijuana from the vehicle during the search.

potThe driver, Brandon Elsworth Craven, 26, of Greensboro, and the passenger, Travis D. Ross, 20, of Raleigh, were both arrested.

Craven was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to store a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ross was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $100,000 bond each. The two men are scheduled to appear in court June 26.

Police said the marijuana had an estimated street value of $7,000.
