WILMINGTON, N.C. — The 16-year-old boy who was attacked by a shark at Oak Island on Sunday is speaking out.

Hunter Treschel, 16, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was in good condition on Tuesday evening after losing an arm in the shark attack.

New Hanover Regional Medical Center posted five videos of him talking about his experience on Tuesday evening, which have been spliced together in the player above.

Treschel was one of two people injured on Sunday in separate shark attacks at Oak Island. Kiersten Yow, 12, of Archdale was also attacked approximately 90 minutes before Treschel was and lost part of her arm.

The Yow family released a statement Tuesday afternoon thanking people for their support and asking for privacy.
