16-year-old carjacking suspect arrested in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — After a series of crashes a carjacking suspect was taken into custody Sunday afternoon in Greensboro.

A woman told police she was sitting in her vehicle on the 2200 block of South Holden Road when a man with a gun approached her and ordered her to get out of the vehicle.

The suspect got into the vehicle and fled the scene, but was later taken into custody near McIntosh Street after a series of collisions..

The 16-year-old was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor, three counts of hit and run property damage, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

The investigation is ongoing.
