RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Randolph County teen was killed in a crash on Sunday night, according to Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Baker.

The crash was reported at 10:02 p.m. on Old Siler City Road near Kildee Church Road.

Jeremiah Enoch York, 16, of Ramseur, was driving east in a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck.

York’s truck went off of the road to the right, hit a culvert and rolled numerous times.

The truck caught fire and burned. York was thrown from the truck and died at the scene.

It appears speeding and York not wearing a seat belt significantly impacted the severity of the crash, Baker said.
