15-year-old boys in Burlington accused of trying to rob man at gunpoint at his home

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Two 15-year-old boys in Burlington are accused of trying to rob a man at gunpoint at his home.

Burlington police said the suspects knocked on the victim’s door at about 6:15 p.m. Friday on Chestnut Street.

When the 28-year-old man answered his door, one of the teenagers allegedly pulled out a shotgun and pointed it at him. Police said the victim then closed his door and called 911.

The two suspects then allegedly left and started walking Chestnut Street toward Durham Street where they were found and arrested by police. Police said a shotgun and a handgun were found in a nearby yard.

The juveniles had both been drinking alcohol, according to police. They were both released to their parents.
