BURLINGTON, N.C. — A radio station serving the Triad will no longer have a talk format starting at midnight Tuesday.

Brad and Britt, longtime morning show hosts on 101.1 WZTK, announced in a Youtube video that the station is changing its format.

Curtis Media, which owns all four stations involved in the changes, hasn’t announced what WZTK’s new format will be. Radio-Info.com reported the company won’t announce the new format for several weeks.

Brad and Britt announced they are moving to afternoons on WSJS 600 AM in Winston-Salem, as well as 850 AM in Raleigh. The 850 AM signal will switch from oldies to talk radio on Tuesday as well.

Allan Handleman’s locally-based show, which was on during afternoons at WZTK, will not return. The station will also lose coverage of Wake Forest basketball and football, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.

The fourth station involved in the changes is WPTF 680 AM, which serves the Raleigh area. The currently talk-leaning station will become more news-oriented.
