1 person injured, several homes damaged after tornado hits NC coast

BOGUE, N.C. – One person was injured and several homes damaged after a tornado touched ground in North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

WNCT reported that the EF-0 tornado touched ground in the Carteret County town of Bogue at about 1:45 p.m.

Authorities said one person was injured, but the extent of the injuries has not been released. An EF-0 has wind speeds between 65 and 85 mph.

The tornado touched ground near an intersection and then traveled toward a camping and RV resort, according to authorities.

Several mobile homes and boats received minor to moderate damage. Two mobile homes were significantly damaged.

Some of the homes sustained damage to their porch awnings, roofing, siding and skirting.
