FANCY GAP, Va. — Virginia state police are investigating after a multi-vehicle crash Saturday in Carroll County that left one person dead and three injured.
Authorities said the crash happened around 10:51 a.m. on Interstate 77 near Fancy Gap Mountain and involved six vehicles – three tractor-trailers, two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle.
Officials said the crash was caused when a tractor-trailer’s driver slowed down due to foggy weather and was rear-ended by another tractor-trailer.
The identities of the victims have not been released. One woman was treated for serious injuries and two other people for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
